Database migration, with the meaning intact
Move a database into a new system without finding out later what you lost.
i2b reads the old database, lays it beside the new one, and tells you exactly what has nowhere to go — before a single row moves. If the new system is missing something the old one needs, it says what to create.
Your own dump is read in your browser — nothing from it is uploaded, and no account is needed to see what it finds. Comparing it against a target needs one, free: sign in as demo / demo.

wp_terms has nowhere to go. The target needs a taxonomy table before 214 categories can move.
12 engines end to end
Shops, sites and a message board recognised without configuration — and anything else read as itself: upload a dump or connect a custom database, name what its tables hold, and it migrates like the rest
4 kinds of relation
declared, inferred from data, guessed, or drawn by you — each labelled as what it is
0 rows
written before you have read the loss report and said yes
Four things happen, in this order
The third one is the point. Everything else exists so that it can be honest.
Read
It works out what the old database meant
Tables, keys, and the relations nobody declared — inferred from the data when the schema stays quiet. Nine engines are understood on sight, from WordPress and PrestaShop to a phpBB board. Anything else — a custom system, an in-house schema, something built before anyone here was hired — is read as itself, and you say what its tables hold.
Compare
It puts the two schemas side by side
Every entity in the old one is matched to the new. What matches, what nearly matches, and what has nowhere to go — and you can draw a relation the machine missed.
Report
It tells you what the new database is missing
Before anything is written: these fields have no home, this extension needs installing, this column has to exist first. A loss ledger you sign off on, not a surprise afterwards.
Carry
Then it moves the data — and the relations
In dependency order, inside one transaction. Or as a script you run yourself, on your own machine, with us nowhere near it.
Your database goes where you say, and no further
A database is the most sensitive thing a company owns. You choose which of these happens — and the first is what you get unless you ask for the other.
It never leaves your machine
The dump is read in your own browser. Nothing from it is uploaded — watch the network tab and see for yourself.
We connect to it
For databases too large to export by hand. Read-only, over your credentials, which we hold in memory and never write down.
The one thing we do send while a dump is being read is a single word — that an analysis started, and that it finished — so we know whether this is useful to anybody. It carries nothing about your database, not even how many tables it has, and you can switch it off on the analysis page.
We never store a password to your database. It stays in memory for as long as you are signed in, and you type it again next time. We never write to your original — only to the new system, and only after you say so.
What it costs
Reading, comparing and the loss report are free, for any database, for as long as you like. You pay when you take something away — a script, a written target, a workspace that is still there tomorrow.

A system nobody documented
By arrangementA bespoke system built years ago, on a stack nobody wants to keep, holding data that has to survive the move intact. There is no price on this page for that, because a figure quoted before anybody has read the schema is a figure somebody regrets — ours or yours.
What we do instead: read the database, tell you what is in it and what the move would actually involve, and quote from that. The reading costs you nothing and is worth having even if you go elsewhere.
What a bespoke job can include
- Agents that work the schema out with you. For a system nobody documented, what the fields mean is the expensive part. The multi-agent workflow engine already exists in MMAIS; building agents that read your particular schema, propose the mappings and explain each one is engineering we do under the contract, not a switch we turn on.
- A workflow shaped round your migration. Staged runs, checks between them, and somebody signing off each stage — because a move of this size is a programme of work, not a button.
- Whatever the analysis says is missing. An engine we have never seen, a format nobody reads any more, a target that has to be built before anything can move into it.
Nothing in this list is waiting behind a licence — it is work, scoped and quoted after we have read the database. What the product does on its own is everything above this card.
Buying against an invoice? We issue a key you enter yourself — no card, and the product never has to reach us to check it.
What it does not do
Here rather than in an email three weeks from now.
- It does not migrate password hashes, salts or reset tokens. Everyone signs in again by resetting.
- It does not invent the missing half of a schema. If the new system has nowhere to put something, it says so and stops.
- It does not guess silently. Every inferred relation is labelled as inferred, and you can overrule it.
- It does not touch your original database. Reads only, and the writes go to the new one.
- It is not a themes-and-templates tool. Content, structure and relations — not how the site looks.
- It cannot promise a lossless move. It can promise you will know the loss before it happens.
Point it at a dump — or just tell us what you are stuck with
It reads the file in your browser. Nothing from it is uploaded, nothing is charged, and you will know within a minute whether it understands your database.
And if it does not — an engine nobody wrote a preset for, a format nobody reads any more, a schema only one person ever understood — that is the work we take on. Write and describe it. We read the database first and answer with what is actually in it, which is more than most people get for free.
